This summer, send your kids to Rock Star Camp!
Kids build confidence while learning music and real-life skills in a professional recording studio.
Not sure what to do with your kids this summer? Want to help your child express themselves, have fun, and gain skills through a musical experience they’ll never forget?
Look no further.
Since 2003, Ottawa’s Fat Dog Productions has been running Rock Star Camp for kids aged 10 – 16 in a world class recording studio. Owner and engineer Chad Nesrallah and a team of music professionals literally cram two years worth of industry experience into two weeks of camp. One look at the jam-packed Rock Star Camp program confirms this.
During two-week summer sessions singers, guitarists, bassists, and drummers are divided into bands and are put through an intensive program covering all aspects of the music industry. At our camp, says Nesrallah we teach real-world topics from songwriting, copyright, and publishing to media interview skills, marketing, and advanced recording techniques. What’s great about this camp is that the kids have complete creative control. They write their own songs, bios and press kits, record their debut CD and perform it live. The results always exceed all expectations.
Before the camp I figured I would meet a few people, record one song and learn a little bit; but we actually learned a lot about what goes on studio-wise. It was a lot better than I had expected. I’d always been afraid of putting my voice forward, but I learned to let it out instead of just being scared and quiet. The camp really boosts your confidence and you become a better performer because of it. Kristen Jerabek
