Turnbull School’s successful summer academic morning programs can be taken on their own or combined with an afternoon of sports or recreation camp. Alternatively, parents can choose just the afternoon program. All Turnbull summer programs are open to children from any school who have completed Grades 1 to 8.
Learning Programs: In very small SkillBoosters classes, students receive an individualized academic program that eases their progression into the next grade. A SkillBoosters program can be as short as one week, but a program lasting four or more weeks is recommended to achieve significant and lasting gains. SkillBoosters helps children to improve their skills and confidence, to develop good work habits and organizational skills, and to increase their proficiency in written English language arts and/or mathematics. A separate SkillBoosters program helps students with oral and written French language arts. Other morning academic programs include our popular Writing and Research Skills course for students who have completed Grades 4 to 8, as well as the very successful end of summer High School Prep course for students who will be entering Grade 9 in September.
Sports and Recreation Programs: Recreation programs are offered for the convenience of families who need full-day programming for their children; however, these programs are also available to children who will not be taking academic programs. All children are supervised at all times and accompanied to their afternoon camp by program staff. All afternoon camps take place at Turnbull School. Program information and registration for these programs is available via the online links provided at www.turnbull.ca. Our sports and recreation camp partners for this summer are Dovercourt Recreation Theme Camps, Above the Rim Basketball School, Soong Badminton Academy and Real Programming 4 Kids.
