Virtual Ventures is a not-for-profit organization run under the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Carleton University by students who wants to make a difference in the lives of today’s youth. Our goal is running a nationally recognized technology and engineering summer camp for youth who have completed grades 1-10.
We have two sets of weekly summer camps: the regular (co-ed) camps, and our specialty camps. The specialty camps for 2014 are Girls@VV Jr and Sr, Connections@VV (camp for Aboriginal youth), Game Design Jr & Sr and our Engineering Week. We will also offer a leadership camp for students who have completed grades 9-10.
Our CAMPS will be offered this year from June 30-Aug 22, 9:00am to 4:00pm, with an extended care option which allows drop off as early as 8:00am and pickup as late as 5:00pm for an additional fee.
All of our programs are divided up by age group and include hands-on engineering challenges, exciting demonstrations, and captivating experiments. Campers will explore topics on LEGO robotics, game design, programming, 2D and 3D animation, 3D printing, electronics, and many other cool aspects of technology while having fun!
Our programs include youthful, inspiring mentors and role models who will share their personal stories while leading activities or making presentations on their related fields. We also host Parent and Guardian tours each Friday.
We as well offer CLUBS on Saturdays during the Fall and Winter such as: Game Design, LEGO Robotics, Girls@VV and Programming.
In May and June we offer SCHOOL WORKSHOPS for grades 1-10 both on location at schools and on campus at Carleton University such as: Energy&Electricity, Chemistry, Clean Water, LEGO Robotics,Visual Programming with Scratch etc.
